Pre-Conference Workshop: Monday May 20, 2019

Workshop A:

Data Analytics For Drilling Interactive Workshop:
Translating Digital Data To Improve Decision Making & Drive Drilling Efficiencies

Drilling and completions engineers accumulate massive amounts of digital data and new data is being acquired at an increasing pace every year. However, for drilling engineers today, the challenge is being able to actually translate that data into intelligent decision making to improve drilling operational efficiencies.

This practical workshop for drilling engineers and oil and gas experts is the first to focus on data translation for optimizing specific parts of the  drilling process  focusing on how to translate and leverage your data to optimize drilling parameters and increase overall operational efficiencies.

Workshop Starts: 13:30pm

13:30   Workshop Registration And Refreshments

14:00   Welcome And Introduction By Workshop Host

14.40    Identifying the key challenges from the group participants associated with organising and interpreting data to improve decision making for different parts of the drilling process

15.10    Step by step guide to data translation within drilling operations  including examples, on how to organise systems to ensure improved decision making at every stage of the drilling process including BHA's and drill bits.

16.10    Coffee break and networking

16.40    Summary of the key action points and practical takeaways

17:20    Closing Remarks

17:30    Happy Hour With Networking, Exhibits, Refreshments And Hors D'Oeuvres

Workshop Ends: 18:30pm

Workshop B:

Drilling Automation Workshop
Bridging The Communications Gap In Rig Automation

When it comes to drilling automation, one of the main obstacles is the lack of common communication protocol that would allow multiple third-part companies to connect to and control drilling equipment on a rig

This workshop for drilling and automation engineers focuses on implementing an automated system WHILST defining the communication protocols needed for downhole, surface integration

Workshop Starts: 13:30pm

13:30    Workshop Registration And Refreshments

14:00    Welcome And Introduction By Workshop Host

14.40    Establishing a culture of trust between stakeholders in order to remove people from the rig and run operations from a neural hub

15.10     Step by step guide on feeding the software data and evergreen digital programs to ensure improved and reliable decision making and operations to data translation within drilling operations  including examples, on how to organise systems to ensure improved decision making at every stage of the drilling process including BHA's and drill bits.

16.10    Coffee break and networking

16.40    Summary of the key action points and practical takeaways

17:20    Closing Remarks

17:30    Happy Hour With Networking, Exhibits, Refreshments And Hors D'Oeuvres

Workshop Ends: 18:30pm
